McGuire's agent offers him to other MLS teamsU-23 USMNT forward's move to Blackburn collapsedUncertainty surrounding his futureWHAT HAPPENED?
After the USMNT U-23 star's transatlantic move to Blackburn Rovers collapsed in horrific fashion as the result of 'human error' that saw a staff member click 'save' and not 'submit' on his paperwork, a dramatic follow-up to his transfer status has arrived. His MLS club, Orlando City, are currently in negotiations to land Atalanta striker Luis Muriel and now, McGuire's future is uncertain.
To make matters worse, the 23-year-old's agent has now gone to social media asking if another MLS club wants him on their roster. Now, nothing is certain, and his future is seemingly up in the air.

The 2023 MLS Rookie of the Year's agent posted on social media platform X, formerly Twitter, that he's available to other MLs teams as a result of the ongoing debacle. He posted: "Anyone in MLS need a starting #9? Asking for a friend".
THE BIGGER PICTURE
His agent's post has caused commotion, and it seems that MLS teams are looking to take advantage. Tom Bogert has revealed that an 'unnamed MLS team' tried to take advantage of the moment McGuire left the Lions for Rovers, making an attempt to claim his 'rights' – only to be turned down by the league. However, if this shows anything, it's that other clubs have their eyes on him and that they are ready to pounce if an opportunity comes.

Now, speculation is rising that McGuire could be seen in a different MLS kit on loan this season until the summer transfer window. With the Lions bringing in Muriel – after expecting McGuire to be loaned out – their finances could be in a knot, or there could be a snag in the relationship even now. However, nothing is certain, and McGuire is an Orlando City player until further notice.
This is, however, a saga to watch as we near the start of the MLS season in just 12 days.
