Lots of Tottenham fans have been reacting to some surprise transfer news, as Swansea City’s Joel Asoro claims he rejected a move to North London this summer.

Tottenham fans were desperate for a new striker to provide support for Harry Kane this summer, as it’s blatantly obvious that Fernando Llorente is not good enough.
Kane keeps picking up nagging injuries towards the end of the season, and the it’s not surprising given the amount of games he plays.
Tammy Abraham was reportedly a target, and Mauricio Pochettino clearly wants a pacey youngster to be Kane’s deputy, as Asoro says he rejected a move.
“We sat talking to Tottenham and they said they could not promise anything about playing time,” the 19 year-old said.
“Then I felt I could not make that choice. It does not hurt to have higher pay, but I thought more about playing.”

He eventually joined Swansea from Sunderland for around £2m, but has yet to register a goal in five Championship appearances for the Swans.
The fact that he preferred playing time to money is admirable, so this could be one to keep an eye on in the future if he does well for Swansea.
