After scoring his team's second goal against Newcastle United on the stroke of half-time, Kudus ran towards the advertising hoardings to perform one of his trademark celebrations using a stool. He approached a ball boy and appeared to request that he moved off his seat, although the youngster chose not to move. The former Ajax forward sat on the advertising board instead, before later appearing to explain why he wanted the ball boy to move in a friendly exchange.

It turned out to be a nightmare afternoon for the Hammers, despite them being 3-1 ahead at one stage. Indeed, sparked by Kalvin Phillips' clumsy concession of a penalty, Newcastle hit back with three goals without reply in the latter stages of the second half to claim an incredible 4-3 win.
